Ford has announced that its model-year 2016 F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel will be offered with three different engine power ratings: 270 hp/675 lb.-ft. torque (standard platform), 300 hp/700 lb.-ft. and 330 hp/725 lb.-ft.
The second-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel builds upon the diesel engine found in the F-Series Super Duty lineup, Ford says. The F-650/F-750 uses a commercial-grade, six-speed TorqShift HD automatic transmission that has been developed and tested specifically for medium-duty applications. The powertrain limited warranty is five years/250,000 miles.
Ford notes that the 2016 F-650/F-750 will be available with no vocational restrictions for horsepower and torque ratings.
‘We're giving our customers the power of choice to determine what's best for their business,’ says John Ruppert, general manager of Ford Commercial Vehicle Sales and Marketing.
The new F-650/F-750 will go on sale in the spring of 2015, Ford says.
