Certain model years of the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana – two staples of the fleet world and common platforms for compressed natural gas (CNG) and other alternative fuel conversions – are subject to a large recall from OEM General Motors.
According to GM, 303,000 Express and Savana full-size vans between model years 2009 and 2014 (GVW<10,000 lbs.) The company says a ‘rework of the passenger instrument panel material’ is needed in order to remedy the problem. The repairs will be made at no charge to GM customers.
GM notes that unsold Express and Savana vans have been placed on stop-delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available.
