Smith Electric Vehicles Corp. Going Public


Smith Electric Vehicles Corp. filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of its common stock.

The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined, the company says. UBS Investment Bank and BofA Merrill Lynch are acting as the joint book-running managers for the offering.

Smith produces the Newton and Edison commercial electric-vehicle models. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Kansas City, Mo., and near Newcastle, U.K.
