ZHRO Solutions LLC has awarded a follow-on $1 million contract to Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. for the further development of Quantum's natural gas fuel system control software and development and integration of the associated engine control software system.
Quantum and ZHRO have been working together, through existing contracts, to develop a complete aftermarket natural gas system for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Quantum is focusing specifically on the system's compressed natural gas storage and fuel delivery systems, which feature the company's ultra-lightweight Q-Lite natural gas tanks. Quantum is also overseeing the development of the engine control software in order to operate engines efficiently with ZHRO's fuel injection system.

Quantum is headquartered in Lake Forest, Calif., and ZHRO is based in Chandler, Ariz.
