Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. says it has received a $5.3 million purchase order for large-diameter, Type 4 Q-Lite compressed natural gas (CNG) storage tanks that will be integrated into heavy-duty trucks.
The order includes ‘certain add-on features’ that could increase its total to over $6 million, the company notes.
‘The order represents continued strong interest in converting heavy-duty Class 8 trucks to compressed natural gas,’ says Brian Olson, president and CEO of Quantum. ‘Our high-capacity, lightweight type IV tank technology is gaining momentum in the heavy-duty marketplace due to its ability to offer the needed range for this market segment.’
Quantum specializes in developing and manufacturing natural gas fuel storage systems and integrating vehicle system technologies, including engine and vehicle control systems and drivetrains.
