Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. says it has received a $4.8 million purchase order from Agility Fuel Systems for its high-capacity, ultra-lightweight compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks.
Under this purchase order, Agility, a natural gas fuel system integrator for heavy-duty trucks, buses and specialty vehicles, will be the exclusive North American distributor of Quantum's line of large-diameter CNG tanks for heavy-duty truck applications.
In addition, Quantum and Agility have jointly developed and are patenting an innovative mounting system to enhance the safety and durability of onboard fuel storage tanks under extended vibrations, accelerations and shock loads, Quantum adds.
The CNG tanks with their new design features will be available from Agility in integrated systems starting in August.
