Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. says it has secured purchase orders totaling $500,000 for its high-capacity, ultra-light-weight composite natural gas storage systems from multiple U.S. integrators.
These storage systems are designed to enable Class 7 and Class 8 heavy-duty trucks to support typical fleet applications while reducing operating costs by up to 30%, the company says. Quantum offers an all-composite tank technology that allows trucks to carry significantly more fuel on board and operate for long distances without reducing their payload.
