Proterra Inc., a manufacturer of zero-emission fleet vehicles, has launched its second-generation, all-electric transit bus, The Proterra Solution.
The company says that the bus, which is the company's first 40-foot model, features a fast-charge system, offers high fuel efficiency and weighs less than any other transit bus.
Proterra has also announced that its buses have logged more than 340,000 miles in revenue service to date. It recently set the record for the most miles traveled by a battery-electric bus in a day (710 miles in 24 hours).
