The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has elected a new executive committee, as well as issued a 2014 budget plan for public review and comment.
PERC elected Paula Wilson, director of marketing at AmeriGas Propane in Valley Forge, Pa., as the council's first chairwoman. Four other newly elected officers include Eric Benson as vice chairman of marketers, Michael E. Barnes as vice chairman of producers, Robert Barry as treasurer and Thomas Van Buren as secretary.
The council's newly proposed 2014 budget of $39.6 million includes $24.2 million for program activities, an increase of $4.5 million from program funding expected in 2013. The program budget would allocate 57% to research and development, 26% to training and 17% to safety efforts.
