Odyne Systems LLC says its plug-in hybrid drive system for medium- and heavy-duty trucks now qualifies under the recently expanded Drive Clean Chicago program.
Drive Clean Chicago aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced vehicle technologies in the city. Vouchers under the program cover 80% of the incremental cost of all-electric or hybrid vehicles.
Odyne says its hybrid system lowers fuel consumption by up to 50% compared to traditional diesel or gasoline engines, reduces emissions and provides quieter operation at the work site.
“We are excited to qualify under this expanded program and look forward to working closely with truck owners in the Chicago area to apply environmentally friendly Odyne hybrid systems to their vehicles,” comments Matt Jarmuz, Odyne's director of sales.
Crosspoint Kinetics, a subsidiary of Cummins Crosspoint LLC, recently announced that it, too, qualifies under the Drive Clean Chicago program.
