New SAE Journal Focuses On Alternative Powertrains

0

SAE International has debuted its new Journal of Alternative Powertrains, which publishes original scholarly research and review papers that address alternative and electric powertrains and propulsion technology.

The organization explains that the editorial scope of the journal includes all technical aspects of alternative propulsion technologies, including electric drives and electromobility systems; hybrid technology; battery and super-capacitor technology; power electronics; hydraulic drives; energy storage systems; fuel cell technology; and more.

The journal is also designed to facilitate discussion among researchers, engineers, academic faculty and students, and industry practitioners working with systems and components, and the technological aspects and functions of alternative powertrains and propulsion systems, SAE says.

Two issues of the journal will be published in 2012: one this month and one in December. The first issue will feature technical papers from the SAE 2012 World Congress, and the second issue will contain technical papers from other events sponsored by SAE and other organizations.
