GE Oil & Gas says it has developed a proprietary Micro LNG platform for small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) applications, such as for advanced-vehicle refueling.
GE says the Micro LNG plant produces in the range of 50 to 150 kt per year of LNG. This level of production is primarily aimed at local markets, where the product can be re-gasified and fed as pipeline natural gas or used locally.
The equipment GE can supply directly for the Micro LNG plants includes centrifugal and integral-gear compressors and companders; turboexpander compressors; reciprocating compressors; and controllers, the company says.
