Multi-state utility Liberty Utilities Co. says it intends to deploy 14 compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles in its Georgia service territory by the end of next year.

These 14 vehicles represent the first step in a pilot program that the company launched last week. Liberty Utilities held a ‘Fuel Up and Fill Up’ luncheon that highlighted the CNG-powered trucks and offered attendees information about natural gas refueling.

Liberty Utilities says it plans to expand the CNG fleet into additional locations in its eight-state footprint, which includes Arizona, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, New Hampshire and Texas.
