The State of New York has awarded Leviton a $1 million grant to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as a part of the ‘Charge NY’ initiative. Leviton will place its Evr-Green Dual Port Level 2 chargers in various locations in Upstate New York, New York City and Long Island.
Leviton says the product can be used with any SAE J1772-compatible EV. The charging stations provide multiple power options and integrate ‘aesthetics and ergonomics with sturdy construction.’
Charge NY is a $3.6 million project funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and the New York Power Authority. The goal is to build a network of 3,000 public and workplace charging stations across the state over the next five years.
