GreenTech Automotive (GTA) and Chinese automaker Jianghui Automotive Co. Ltd. (JAC) say they are beginning the development of a four-door, all-electric vehicle for the North American market.
This initiative is an extension of the existing partnership between the companies, which first formed in 2012 and was formalized in April 2013.
‘In a relatively short time in the market, GTA has made significant progress in electric-vehicle engineering and design,’ says Jing An, chairman and CEO of JAC. ‘This new agreement between JAC and GTA will draw on the strengths of both companies to meet the needs of a growing market in the United States, and our continued partnership will remain a win-win for both companies.’
GTA operates a pilot manufacturing facility in Horn Lake, Miss., and is constructing a new plant in Tunica, Miss.
