Inland Waste Begins Shift to Natural Gas Vehicle Owner and Converter

Omnitek Engineering Corp. has appointed Austin, Texas-based refuse and recycling company Inland Waste Solutions as an authorized conversion center for Omnitek's natural gas systems for heavy-duty vehicles.

Additionally, Inland Waste has submitted an initial order for Omnitek conversion systems for the 12-liter Mack E7 engine, which the company will use to begin converting its own fleet of 200-plus refuse trucks to natural gas.

‘The company's fleet includes Navistar, Mack and Detroit Diesel engine models, and Omnitek is well-positioned to meet its current and future requirements with EPA-approved conversion kits or natural gas converted 'drop-in' engines,’ says Werner Funk, president and CEO of Omnitek.

Inland Waste will perform diesel-to-natural-gas conversions for other fleets in the region at its truck refurbishing facility in Augusta, Ga. The company's fleet serves customers in eight Southwestern states.
