Gilbarco Inc., a major player in the retail and commercial fueling equipment sector, is acquiring ANGI Energy Systems LLC, a Wisconsin-based firm whose compressed natural gas (CNG) packages have a dominant position in the U.S. CNG refueling network.
Gilbarco says the combined company will deliver ‘the most comprehensive suite of CNG dispensing, fuel management and distributed control systems.’
‘ANGI's team brings valuable expertise into the Gilbarco family, allowing us to accelerate technology advancements and manufacturing excellence in natural gas fueling,’ comments Stephen Moule, president of Gilbarco North America. ‘They also bring a team of highly skilled associates, a quality operation and a strong portfolio of customers that we look forward to serving.’
Gilbarco's existing products include the Encore line of CNG dispensers, designed for retail applications. The company anticipates that technology such as this will be smoothly integrated with ANGI's expansive offering of CNG refueling packages.
‘ANGI continues to grow rapidly due to customer demand,’ says John Grimmer, ANGI's president. ‘To keep pace, we looked for a strategic partner with systems, processes and people to support our employees and customers as the industry builds out.’
The deal – whose terms are undisclosed – represents a definitive purchase agreement that still needs to officially close. When it does close, ANGI will become a new division within Gilbarco. The ANGI brand, as well as its operations in Janesville, Wis., will be maintained.
