Gamesa, through its Gamesa Venture Capital investment unit, has acquired a 20% stake in N2S, a Spain-based start-up company that focuses on electric vehicle (EV) technologies. Gamesa says the deal is a part of the company's strategy for ‘technological diversification into new renewable industries.’
Gamesa has designed a number of EV charging stations, which it will begin manufacturing this year in Valencia, Spain. N2S has developed a platform for real-time management of EV charging infrastructure called POWER2DRIVE that controls EV charging through computers, tablets or mobile devices. The system is compatible with equipment produced by any charging-station manufacturer, the companies say.
