Questar Fueling continued the expansion of its refueling network in Texas this week with the opening of a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station in DeSoto.
Major Class 8 carriers Swift Transportation and Dart Transit will represent the initial anchors for the facility. Swift will be refueling about 30 heavy-duty tractors in DeSoto, and Dart will be rolling 17 through the station. Both fleets anticipate that the number of natural gas vehicles using the site will increase.
This station is located at 650 E. Centre Park Blvd., south of Dallas near Interstates 20 and 35. ANGI Energy Systems was the main CNG equipment provider for the facility, which features three fast-fill CNG dispensers – each with one high-flow nozzle and one light-duty NGV nozzle.
Questar Fueling, which owns and will operate the new station, tells NGT News that the current capacity is 3,800 SCFM (1,900 GGE/hour). Once at full build-out, the capacity will expand to 6,000 SCFM (3,000 GGE/hour).
The DeSoto station is Questar Fueling's third public-access CNG development in Texas, joining sites in Houston and San Antonio.
