Republic Services Inc. has deployed 53 compressed natural gas (CNG) solid waste and recycling trucks to serve customers in the Charleston, W.Va., metro area. The company also installed a natural gas refueling station to support this new fleet.
Overall, Republic Services serves more than 34,500 residential and 5,000 commercial customers throughout the Charleston area.
Just last week, the company commissioned 23 CNG-powered Peterbilt trucks in its Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., service territory. The new natural gas vehicles in West Virginia and Minnesota add to Republic Services' existing fleet of more than 1,400 NGVs.
