Tesla Motors says it is expanding its retail network to new locations in Chicago; Bellevue, Wash.; and Newport Beach, Calf., to support the rollout of the electric vehicle manufacturer's Model S premium sedan next year.
The Model S seats five adults and two children, Tesla says. It comes with three battery pack options: a 160-, 230- or 300-mile range. The vehicle can be recharged using any conventional outlet and is capable of a 45-minute full charge.
The company notes that it has already received 6,000 reservations for the 2012 Model S.
