Natural gas engine manufacturer Cummins Westport Inc. has appointed Gordon Exel president of the company, effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Exel is currently vice president of sales and marketing at Westport Innovations Inc. He joined Westport in 2002 as vice president and general manager, Americas, for Cummins Westport. In 2012, he moved to Westport's European office in Lyon, France, as vice president of sales and marketing.
‘Gordon's experience with Cummins Westport and solid understanding of the customers and markets are key assets that will contribute to the ongoing success of Cummins Westport,’ says Ed Pence, vice president and general manager of Cummins' high-horsepower engine business segment and chairman of Cummins Westport.
Jim Arthurs, current president of Cummins Westport, will be returning to a senior leadership position at Westport. Also, Cummins Westport has elected its board of directors for 2014: Ed Pence (chairman), Dean Cantrell, Ric Kleine, Ashoka Achuthan, Jim Arthurs and Thomas Rippon.
