Ballard Power Systems is working with the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) to integrate a 150 kW FCvelocity-HD6 fuel cell module into a bus operated by Connecticut-based CTTransit.
Ballard, BAE Systems and ElDorado National jointly developed the fuel-cell hybrid bus configuration, and one of these units is currently in operation with SunLine Transit Agency in Thousand Palms, Calif. SunLine is planning on taking delivery of two additional buses, and one will be deployed in Boston.
CTTransit's fuel-cell hybrid bus is expected to be delivered in 2015.
