The Community College of Allegheny County will be offering a light-duty natural gas vehicles course this spring at ‘O’ Ring CNG Fuel Systems' training facility in Brookville, Pa.
The college says the program will introduce students to the compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system components associated with light-duty natural gas vehicles (NGVs). Fuel properties and safety will be emphasized, along with vehicle conversions. Additional topics to be covered include high-pressure fittings and tube-bending.
Classes will convene on April 1-2, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or April 1, 2, 9 and 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
In June 2013, ‘O’ Ring announced that it was partnering with the college and Pittsburgh Regional Clean Cities to offer classes at its facility in Brookville, which also serves as a refueling spot for CNG and propane autogas.
