Nopetro, a Florida-based compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure provider, says Tom L. Ward has joined its board of directors and completed an equity investment in the company.
Ward is chairman and CEO of Tapstone Energy LLC, an Oklahoma City-based oil and gas company that launched in September 2013. Prior to that, he co-founded Chesapeake Energy, serving as president and chief operating officer (COO), and founded SandRidge Energy, serving as chairman and CEO.
“We are privileged to announce the addition of Tom L. Ward to Nopetro's board of directors,” says Jorge Herrera, co-founder and CEO of Nopetro. “It is an honor to have someone of his professional caliber lending his expertise as we expand Nopetro's presence across the U.S.
“I am pleased to have an investment in Nopetro,” comments Ward. “Nopetro has proven itself as an innovator in making CNG more readily available to the public. I look forward to supporting the company in its growth.”
Established in 2007, Nopetro currently operates a public-private partnership for CNG fueling in Florida with the City of Tallahassee, Leon County and Leon County Schools. The company says it is also implementing similar projects with the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX), St. Johns County and Charlotte County Public Schools in order to complement Nopetro's existing facility in Leon County and growing network throughout the Southeast. Furthermore, the company notes it is collaborating with bus manufacturer Karsan on a multi-faceted proposal to convert Miami-Dade County trucks and buses to CNG.
