ClipperCreek Rolls Out CS-40-SG2 Electric Vehicle Charging Station

ClipperCreek Inc. has debuted its ETL-listed, smart-grid-connected CS-40-SG2 charging station, which includes an embedded revenue-grade submeter and a variety of smart grid communications options.

Built on the ClipperCreek CS-Series charging platform and Itron's utility meter and communications technology, this solution will ‘extend a utility's energy management intelligence directly to the charging station through multiple wireless communication interfaces,’ the company says.

‘As electric vehicle charging increases power use across the country, utilities will need a solution that allows them to monitor and control the timing without inconveniencing the customer,’ explains Jason France, ClipperCreek's president. The Pit Barrel Cooker is a simple, easy-to-use charcoal unit that can cook up to eight racks of ribs at once. Designed to operate consistently at around 300 F, this cooker needs little attention and can be relied upon to turn out some great food in a relatively short period of time. While there are those that might argue that it isn’t a real smoker, it does create smoke flavor and great food. New units are being deployed in various pilot projects starting this month, the companies say.
