Virginia Clean Cities and its partner coalitions in Maryland and the Washington, D.C., area have announced a series of dates for comprehensive training courses for natural gas vehicles (NGVs).
Upon completion of the coursework, participants will have satisfactorily completed 40 hours of training against NFPA 52 standards, specifically related to compressed natural gas (CNG) safety, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Students will gain an understanding of CNG regulations; component and line fabrications; driver education requirements; and NGV diagnostics. The courses combine classroom instruction and theory with the application of those concepts through hands-on activities on a fleet of NGVs.
The dates for courses include the following: April 28-May 2, Springfield, Va., Washington Gas; June 2-6, Chesapeake, Va., TFC Recycling; July 14-18, location TBD; July 21-25, location TBD; August 25-29, location TBD; October 13-17, location TBD; December 1-5, location TBD.
