Clean Air Power Ltd., a company that specializes in dual-fuel natural gas systems for heavy-duty vehicles, says it has experienced sales and forward-order growth of more than 30% year over year.
During calendar-year 2012, the company sold a total of 300 systems worldwide – a number that has ballooned to more than 400 year-to-date in 2013.
‘The increase in sales and forward orders in 2013 has been achieved despite constraints on expected production levels of methane-diesel vehicles by our European OEM partner ahead of the introduction of Euro 6 emissions standards in Europe in 2014,’ the company says.
Clean Air Power anticipates that demand for its dual-fuel technology will ‘continue to increase in 2014 due to interest from several large U.K. fleet operators and the opening of a number of new natural gas refueling stations.’ Moreover, the company is currently engaged in various activities that could expand Clean Air Power's market presence, such as the development a dual-fuel product – the Genesis Edge – specifically for the U.S. heavy-duty trucking market.
‘The long-term trend toward the adoption of natural gas as a road transport fuel around the world continues at pace, and our strategy of developing products for the markets of Europe, Russia and the U.S. means that we are well-placed to service this rising demand,’ says John Pettitt, CEO of Clean Air Power.
