Cleaire’s Vista Diesel Particulate Filter Attains CARB Verification Expansion

Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls says the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has approved an expansion of the company's Vista diesel particulate filter to cover later-model EGR and Caterpillar ACERT engines.

The Vista product is approved for installation on 1993 through 2010 model year engines from 2.7 L to 13 L, in power ranges of 100 hp to 450 hp, the company says. It is a CARB Level 3+ system, meaning it has demonstrated diesel particulate matter emission reductions of greater than 85% while meeting CARB's NO2 emission standard. The verification makes the Vista eligible for regulatory and incentive programs such as the CARB Fleet Rules, EPA DERA funding and federal CMAQ programs.

‘In addition to the engine group expansion including the newer EGR engines, we've incorporated some product refinements to improve the reliability and user friendliness and to reduce power consumption,’ says Dr. Brad Edgar, president and chief technical officer at Cleaire. ‘This active design is ideally suited for diesel engines operating with very cold duty cycles and/or highly variable duty cycles.’
