Eight biogas projects have received awards from the American Biogas Council (ABC) for their contributions to the U.S. biogas industry.
The awards were announced at the Biogas Industry Awards and Dinner at the ABC’s annual conference:
2019 Project of the Year
Agriculture, Dairy – Calumet Renewable Energy | Newton, Wis.
ABC Members: DTE Biomass Energy, Roeslein Alternative Energy, DVO, Inc.
The Calumet Renewable Energy project is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2019 Biogas Project of the Year Award for the use of an innovative business model to manage dairy RNG through a virtual pipeline.
Agriculture, Other – Valley View | Greencastle, Mo.
ABC Members: Roeslein Alternative Energy
The Valley View project is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2019 Biogas Project of the Year Award for the continued commitment of Roeslein and Smithfield to generate RNG from hog waste.
Merchant – Kompogas San Luis Obispo | San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The Kompogas San Luis Obispo project is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2019 Biogas Project of the Year Award for the deployment of advanced organic waste processing technology and a unique project financing strategy.
Municipal – Honouliuli WWTP Biogas Upgrading w/ Hawaii Gas & DMT Clear Gas Solutions | Ewa Beach, Hawaii

The Honouliuli WWTP Biogas Upgrading w/ Hawaii Gas & DMT Clear Gas Solutions project is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2019 Biogas Project of the Year Award for the deployment of DMT Clear Gas Solutions’ advnaced gas cleaning technology on municipal biogas to reduce the carbon footprint of the Honoliuli natural gas system, making it more renewable.

The Vanguard/Vermont Gas Project is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2019 Up-And-Coming Project Award for creating an exciting partnership between a local gas utility, academic institution, farm and investor, hopefully to be repeated across the country.
