ITS Technologies & Logistics, a provider of rail intermodal terminal services, has successfully completed pilot testing of Orange EV's T-Series electric terminal truck at its facility in Edgerton, Kan.
The T-Series is a heavy-duty, all-electric truck platform that Orange EV has positioned as an alternative to diesel-powered trucks for warehouse/transportation, intermodal, manufacturing and parcel delivery terminal operations.
‘Terminal trucks work long hours, often in harsh 24×7 industrial environments,’ says Ron Teague, ITS' senior vice president of intermodal operations. ‘We needed to see that Orange EV's all-electric terminal truck could do the job and get through a shift on a single charge. They've convinced our team. Orange EV's T-Series demonstrated it has the endurance and power we need.’
During pilot testing in Edgerton, the T-Series ‘consistently lifted and pulled the GCWR of 81,000 pounds at the site-designated 20 mph speed,’ according to the companies. The truck also lifted and pulled oversized loads, completed over 400 total runs and showed that its 160 kWh battery would go 10 hours or more on a single charge.
ITS has a large footprint, with more than 60 facilities across the U.S. and Mexico.
