AFV Natural Gas Fuel Systems, a vertically integrated U.S. manufacturer of natural gas vehicle (NGV) fuel system components, says that its products have met and exceeded the accelerated cyclic corrosion test requirement in the CSA Group standard ANSI NGV 3.1-2014 – Fuel system components for compressed natural gas powered vehicles.
AFV released a technical white paper on the standard's corrosion testing requirement. The company says the purpose of the paper is to provide the alternative fuel vehicle community with a tool for understanding current automotive industry corrosion testing methodology and the potential impact of corrosion on vehicle performance and safety, as well as to explain why the accelerated cyclic corrosion test requirement was added to ANSI NGV 3.1-2014.
By way of this paper, AFV is also publicizing that its fuel line tube and hose assembly products, along with SSP and TiteFlex products used by the company, have passed the standard's corrosion testing.
