The city fleet in Shelton, Conn., has received its full complement of propane-powered school buses – a total of 60 units from Blue Bird Corp.
Shelton bought 47 77-passenger Blue Bird Visions, seven 47-passenger units and six 30-passenger buses. Each of these vehicles uses propane autogas systems from ROUSH CleanTech.
Landmark Student Transportation will be operating the buses this coming school year, according to the Shelton Herald. The $5.5 million propane fleet will be stationed at Shelton's school bus yard.
City officials told the Herald that seven companies had been approached to offer proposals for propane autogas refueling infrastructure, which will be located at the city's bus yard. The finalists – two of them – have been selected.
