Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has launched a new business unit, Facilities Modification Services, to support fleets that are upgrading their maintenance facilities to accommodate natural gas vehicles.
The division, which will be led by general manager Tim Newman, will offer a ‘range of solutions ranging from basic consulting and design to turnkey modification projects,’ the company says. Ensuring that maintenance garages meet applicable codes is at the core of the new service.
‘A significant number of new natural gas vehicles are hitting the road every day, which has created the need for more natural-gas-compliant maintenance facilities to take care of these expanding fleets,’ says Mitchell W. Pratt, Clean Energy's chief operating officer. ‘Clean Energy will now be able to respond to this growing demand with our new Facilities Modification group.’
Various types of fleets can be served, such as municipalities, heavy-duty trucking, refuse companies and taxis, Clean Energy says.
