The Wisconsin State Energy Office has selected ET Environmental Corp. LLC, a company that focuses on designing and developing alternative fueling infrastructure, to examine options and develop recommendations related to the expanded use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a transportation fuel.
ET Environmental will work with state officials and other stakeholders to ‘create regulatory guideline documents, supplemental checklists and diagrams’ designed to help diesel truck fleet maintenance facilities – in particular – modify their sites to accommodate CNG refueling. This initial stage of work is expected to take about four months.
The company says staff from its Chicago, Idaho and Connecticut offices will be working on the Wisconsin project.
‘ET Environmental's proposal was chosen among the nine submitted because they have the best expertise and history of work related to meeting the objectives of our program,’ says Maria Redmond, senior analyst and program manager, transportation fuels, for the energy office.
‘These facilities require very different building codes that can often be confusing,’ explains Bill Higginbotham, president and CEO of ET Environmental. ‘We hope to see more forward-thinking states follow Wisconsin's lead by developing uniform guidelines.’
