Enova Systems Inc., a developer of drivetrain technologies for commercial electric vehicles (EVs), says it has received additional orders from China-based First Auto Works (FAW) for hybrid-electric drive-system components.
Enova shipped 50 systems to FAW in December 2011, and FAW has placed an incremental order for another 50 units for delivery early this year. Since 2008, Enova and FAW have deployed nearly 500 vehicles, all of which use Enova's pre-transmission hybrid-drive-system components.
The system is integrated and branded under the Jiefang name. The Jiefang 40-ft hybrid city bus can carry up to 103 passengers and travel at speeds of over 50 miles per hour, Enova says.
