W.R. Grace & Co. has expanded its manufacturing facility in Sorocaba, Brazil, enabling the company to increase production of silica gel for the renewable fuels industry, particularly for biodiesel and renewable diesel.
The Sorocaba site began silica production in 1984 and is currently Grace's largest facility in Latin America. The company notes that the site currently produces more than 50 grades of silica. Its TriSyl silica helps improve refinery economics by removing contaminants from natural oil feedstocks.
