Love's Travel Stops says it will be expanding its compressed natural gas (CNG) footprint into Georgia with the installation of CNG refueling capacity at its existing location in Thomson.
‘Our initial CNG facilities in Oklahoma and Texas have been very well received, and our customers are asking for it in additional regions,’ says Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas for Love's. ‘With this expansion, we can meet the needs of fleets and leisure drivers at a more competitive cost.’
Heavy-duty carrier Werner Enterprises will be Thomson's initial anchor fleet, with the company already committed to deploying eight CNG-powered tractors in the area and filling up at Love's. The heavy-duty trucks will be able to refuel at a rate of at least 10 DGE/minute
‘Adding CNG at a growing number of locations, Thomson in particular, will help us
run our business more efficiently,’ says Steve Phillips, senior vice president of fleet resources for Werner Enterprises.
The CNG pumps in Thomson – which will include fast-fill dispensing for light-duty natural gas vehicles – will represent Love's 18th CNG site. Natural gas is expected to be available there in spring 2015.
