2015 Green Transportation Summit Taking Shape in Portland

Registration is opening this week for the 2015 Green Transportation Summit & Expo, to be held at the Portland Expo Center in Oregon on April 21-22, 2015.

The event builds on previous years' gatherings in the Pacific Northwest, coordinated by longtime transportation, trucking and alternative fuels stakeholder Brian Trice. National in scope but regional and local in focus, the conference will offer speakers and panel discussions addressing issues and trends in green transportation, as well as a large expo that will bring together the full range of companies providing fleet solutions for compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), propane autogas, biofuels, hydrogen and electric/hybrid vehicles. The venue offers approximately 40,000 square feet of exhibit and conference space.

A unique, new portion of the show is a Performance Ride & Drive event, which will take place at the adjacent Portland International Raceway. Closed courses will allow fleet managers to get behind the wheel of various alt-fuel vehicles and literally go through the gears. Trice says the conference organizers will emphasize securing the full range of vehicle technologies (e.g., CNG, propane, electric, hydrogen, hybrid) across the spectrum of classifications, from light-duty passenger cars and pickups to Class 8 tractors and trucks.

Travel for fleets in the area is straightforward, as the Portland Expo Center is located along Interstate 5 between downtown Portland and Vancouver, Wash., and is served by TriMet's MAX light rail Yellow Line.

More details – including early-bird registration and hotel info – can be found on the conference website. Interested sponsors and exhibitors can also contact Brian Trice at (503) 688-0989 or triceb@linnbenton.edu.
