Honda has debuted the 2014 Civic Natural Gas, continuing the model's longstanding status as the only true OEM passenger vehicle offered in North America with a dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system.
The four-door Civic Natural Gas, which will be available at Honda dealers in 37 states starting Feb. 15, has an MSRP starting at $26,640. The vehicle's combined EPA fuel-economy rating is 31 mpg (27 mpg city/38 mpg highway), and both the standard and Leather Navi configurations feature a 110 hp, 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission. The model offers 8.03 GGE of on-board CNG storage.
Among the CNG Civic's standard features are a new ‘Display Audio’ system with seven-inch touchscreen and an Expanded View Driver's Mirror. The Civic Natural Gas Leather Navi model has premium features such as leather seats, heated front seats, heated side mirrors and a six-speaker audio system.
The company notes that the 2014 Civic Natural Gas is assembled at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, located in Greensburg, Ind.
