Natural Gas Vehicles for America (NGVAmerica) has appointed Paul Sandsted its director of technology and sustainability, effective immediately.
Sandsted comes to NGVAmerica from Cummins Inc., where he served as an application engineer beginning in 2005, providing technical support to OEM customers across a variety of powertrains in generator-drive, automotive, industrial and military applications. He is a 2002 graduate of Clemson University, where he majored in computer engineering and minored in mathematical sciences.
“Paul’s vast experience in the on-road heavy-duty engine market is a key find for NGVAmerica and its close to 200 member companies,” says NGVAmerica’s president, Dan Gage. “For almost 15 years, Paul has worked with a variety of OEM customers to develop powertrain systems that work for specific applications in challenging environments.”
In this new position, Sandsted will lead NGVAmerica programs related to industry sustainability, technology development, research priorities, safety and best practices, and codes and standards for natural gas vehicles and fueling infrastructure. This includes collaboration with NGVAmerica members, academia, governments, standards and research organizations, and other stakeholders.
