NGVAmerica has elected two new members to its board of directors: Paul Shaffer, executive vice president of Landi Renzo USA, and David Nestor, director of compressed natural gas (CNG) at Piedmont Natural Gas.
Shaffer first began his alternative fuel career in 1997 as an Air Force Captain, managing a program involving more than 800 vehicles deployed to 37 Air Force locations. He later joined Bachman NGV, which became BAF Technologies, where he was instrumental in securing the first Ford QVM designation for Ford’s OEM CNG program in 2010.
Nestor has worked with Piedmont Natural Gas, a Duke Energy subsidiary, for more than 11 years. In his current role, he is responsible for new business development and the safe, reliable operations of Piedmont’s public CNG stations. He also manages developers’ requests for the evaluation and feasibility of renewable natural gas injection into Piedmont’s pipeline infrastructure. Nestor is also involved with the Gas Technology Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
“We are excited to have Paul and David join our talented group of committed board of directors members,” says NGVAmerica’s president, Daniel Gage. “Paul’s career-long experience in the light-duty and work truck segments and David’s deep background in the distribution and gas utility sector broaden the expertise on our leadership team. And their ascension to our board demonstrates Landi Renzo’s and Piedmont’s commitment to clean, low/no-carbon transportation.”
