GreenPower Motor Co. Inc. has delivered three of its EV350 all-electric transit buses to the City of Porterville, located in California’s San Joaquin Valley.
This order brings Porterville’s electric bus fleet to eight EV350s, which have replaced the city’s existing compressed natural gas transit buses.
The city’s route requirements range from 190 miles to 230 miles each weekday. GreenPower configured these buses with over 430 kWh of batteries (the standard configuration is 320 kWh) to handle these requirements.
The benefits of deploying the EV350 electric buses include cleaner air and quieter operation, says GreenPower, which notes that San Joaquin Valley has some of the worst air pollution in the U.S.
