The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified NatGasCar LLC's gasoline/compressed natural gas (CNG) bi-fuel conversion system for the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500.
The Ram 1500 is the newest vehicle in the NatGasCar fleet, joining the 2011 Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Volkswagen Routan, Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, and Dodge Journey. Both the two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions of the truck are covered under the EPA certification, the company says.
NatGasCar notes that the addition of an on-board CNG tank doubles the Ram 1500's range.
