Envision Solar International Inc. says it has received its latest order for its EV ARC charging products from the City of Maywood, Calif.

As reported, the contract was awarded to Envision Solar by California’s Department of General Services, enabling any state, municipal or local governmental department to order EV ARC products as needed.

Envision says this latest order for EV ARCs will be used to charge the City of Maywood’s new fleet of electric vehicles (EVs).

“The contract with the state of California has made it possible for us to ship EV ARCs to many different departments, towns, universities and other entities,” says Desmond Wheatley, Envision CEO. “Our recent announcements about New York City and Fresno County demonstrate a trend [that] is now joined by Maywood – more and more fleets are electrifying, and if they need clean, reliable, rapidly deployed EV charging solutions [that] offer emergency backup power during blackouts, EV ARC is the only way to go.”

The EV ARC fits inside a parking space, requires no installation work of any kind, and generates enough clean electricity to power up to 225 miles of EV driving in a day. The system’s solar electrical generation is enhanced by EnvisionTrak, which enables the array to follow the sun, generating up to 25% more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored for charging day or night and can provide emergency power during a grid failure.
