Agility Fuel Solutions, a global provider of clean fuel solutions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, is now certified to be compliant with the ISO 14001:2015 standard at its manufacturing facilities in Salisbury, N.C., and Raufoss, Norway.

These certifications were awarded by DNV GL for Agility’s implementation of a program to promote and practice environmental sustainability while ensuring the health and safety of its workforce. Agility is also driving compliance to the ISO 14001:2015 standard in its other manufacturing facilities and working toward their certification, the company notes.

ISO 14001:2015, an internationally accepted standard for environmental management systems, was created by the International Organization for Standardization to help organizations minimize negative environmental effects from their operations; comply with laws, regulations and environmental requirements; and achieve continual improvement of their environmental performance.

As part of its efforts to achieve this certification, Agility has established its own environmental management system (EMS) to provide assurance to management, employees and external stakeholders that the company is measuring and improving its environmental impacts.

“Agility’s purpose as a company is to improve the environment by delivering world-class sustainable transportation solutions for our customers. It’s important that we carry that commitment to sustainability through our own operations, as well,” states Kurt Nielsen, Agility’s senior vice president for corporate operations and customer care. “The establishment of our EMS and these certifications are important milestones on our sustainability journey.”

Agility also holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certifications from DNV GL for its operations in Salisbury, N.C.; Fontana, Calif.; Raufoss, Norway; and Kelowna, British Columbia.
