TOTE Inc. has selected Pivotal LNG Inc. and WesPac Midstream LLC to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to fuel TOTE's two new container ships operating out of Jacksonville, Fla. TOTE says these dual-fuel LNG ships are expected to be delivered to the port in late 2015 and early 2016.
‘We are pleased to be partnering with Pivotal LNG and WesPac in this innovative LNG development and look forward to continuing to develop LNG as an alternative transportation fuel,’ says Peter Keller, executive vice president of TOTE.
Pivotal LNG, WesPac and TOTE have signed a letter of intent and are working toward definitive agreements. Pivotal LNG and WesPac plan to create a joint venture that will develop a new LNG plant in Jacksonville.
AGL Resources, the parent company of Pivotal LNG, has more than four decades of experience in providing customers with LNG fuel. AGL Resources is one of the largest operators of liquefaction facilities in the nation, primarily through its distribution utility operations that use the LNG facilities for peak-shaving services.
