Icom North America, a propane vehicle system technologies company, says it recently received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for more than two dozen applications of its JTG II autogas fuel system.
Among the approvals – all of which cover JTG II installations on model-year 2014 vehicles – are conversions of Ford F-150 two- and four-wheel-drive trucks that use the 3.7-liter engine. The EPA certification covers both bi-fuel and dedicated autogas conversions on these Ford platforms, the company tells NGT News.
Icom also secured approvals for bi-fuel conversions of a wide range of model-year 2014 GM vehicles with the 5.3-liter engine. Popular fleet models such as the passenger- and cargo-van configurations of the GMC Savana and Chevy Express are now EPA-approved, as are two- and four-wheel-drive Chevy Suburbans.
Other MY 2014 GM platforms to attain EPA certification include JTG II propane conversions of the Chevy Avalanche, GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe.
