Kay Johnson has joined the Metropolitan Energy Center/Kansas City Clean Cities Coalition as program manager, responsible for establishing a new Clean Cities group – the Central Kansas Clean Cities Coalition.
Johnson, who is based in Wichita, Kan., will also focus on coordinating the Mid-America Collaborative for Alternative Fuels Implementation project. This initiative is a partnership among MEC, the Nebraska Clean Cities Coalition, the St. Louis Regional Clean Cities and the Iowa Clean Cities Coalition that takes a regional approach to deploying alternative fuel vehicles and the associated refueling infrastructure.
Johnson most recently managed environmental programs for the City of Wichita – a position she held for a decade. She has substantial experience as an environmental, health and safety professional, specifically in industrial and chemical manufacturing, regulatory permitting, and remediation.
