Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has awarded Ryder System Inc. its 2012 Green Supply Chain Award, which acknowledges Ryder's efforts related to achieving sustainability goals in the transportation segment.
‘We've been able to use our strengths in engineering and execution, along with innovation in alternative fuels, to provide our customers with low-cost, flexible and sustainable solutions,’ says John Williford, president of global supply chain solutions for Ryder.
Ryder helps its customers improve the environmental performance of their supply chains in several ways, such as by providing natural gas vehicles (NGVs), supporting the streamlining of supply chains by optimizing energy consumption and waste recycling; and providing technologies that allow customers to monitor fuel consumption and idling.
